Classes:
Important: Student attendance at all performances is mandatory

Advanced Band/Marching Band
Open to qualified students who play a wind or percussion instrument and are interested in being a member of a performing wind ensemble.  The band plays many styles of music and is performance group for school and community activities.  The first (fall) semester concentrates heavily on the marching band and color guard participating in home varsity football games, field show competitions, parades and other events.

The marching band converts to a concert band at end of the first and the entire second semester participating in performances and community events. 

Choir
This is a choral class for students with limited singing experience.  The group performs at three to four concerts each year. Basic aspects of singing, sight-reading, and choral literature are included in the curriculum.

Concert Choir
This is a performing choral class that gives concerts and also performs at festivals, competitions and community events.  All students are required to audition with the director upon entrance to the class.  All aspects of music literature from early classics and sacred works to modern music are studied. 

Guitar
This course is designed for the beginning guitar student.  No previous experience is necessary.  Students will learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar, including chord structure, basic notation, and strumming techniques.  The student must also provide and acoustic guitar as specified by the instructor.

Piano
This course is designed for the beginning piano student.  No previous experience is necessary.  Students will learn the fundamentals of playing the piano and music theory and notation.  This course may be repeated one time for credit.
